Newport Wafer Fab wins prestigious UK Manufacturing Site of the Year category at last night’s TechWorks Awards.

Newport Wafer Fab’s manufacturing facilities have been declared the UK electronic systems industry’s best in 2018 at last night’s TechWorks Awards.

The awards celebrate the year’s key electronics innovations, people and companies from across the UK and Ireland. The TechWorks Awards have run annually since 2001 - originally branded as the NMI Awards.

The award was presented by the renowned Journalist John Sergeant, who said: “Newport Wafer Fab is the device foundry of the compound semiconductor cluster, the facility has over 30 years of experience of fabricating world class, high end devices. They provide a manufacturing and development service, which enables their customers to succeed in their fields of expertise".

“With a fast and agile semiconductor production service for the CS cluster and the wider foundry market, Newport Wafer Fab is a high volume 200mm wafer fab with a highly skilled & experienced team.”

Last night’s awards were held at a prestigious venue near London’s Tower Bridge.
