Job Description.

We are looking for a recent graduate to join our New Product Introduction team at an exciting time for Newport Wafer Fab. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and proactive and hold a degree relevant to the semiconductor sector.

 

Your general duties will include:

  • Support the New Product Introduction Team to introduce new novel technologies and transfer products by:
    • Management / Co-ordination of in line Batches and Experiments within the Manufacturing area.
    • Systematic troubleshooting / problem solving
    • Develop Models within Factory MES
    • Data analysis in-inline controls and interpretation for Customer Reports
    • Use of quality tools such as FMEA, DOE
    • Process / equipment / device control through SPC implementation
    • Support Senior Engineers and Programme Managers in process / equipment / technology transfer start up, scheduling, planning and execution.

Qualifications and education requirements:

  • Degree in Physics / Chemistry or Electrical / Mechanical Engineering
  • Preferably an understanding of Semiconductor Manufacturing processes
  • Ideally at least one year of work experience

Desired skills:

  • Mathematical skills
    • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as, exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations and permutations.
    • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as, frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis.  
    • Ability to calculate figures such as WIP turns, Cycle time calculations, OEE equations recovery and plans to achieve line balance.
     
    Reasoning ability
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
    • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardised situations.
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardisation exists.
    • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram or schedule form.
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
