Role Description

We have an exciting opportunity for two Apprentices to join across our Equipment Engineering teams to complete a 3-year apprenticeship. The programme combines academic study with on-the-job training.

Your general duties will include:

  • Attending college, studying and passing all required modules
  • Satisfactorily complete relevant NVQ’s with on-site training provider
  • Acquiring new skills through on-the-job training under the guidance of an internal mentor
  • Rotation across different manufacturing areas to learn a wide variety of skills
  • Maintaining up-to-date log books and training notes
  • Learning how to work with and follow procedures / specifications
  • Working safely by observing and following all safety requirements and procedures
  • Working as part of a team and individually with full support from our engineering department/mentors
Through the programme the successful candidates will achieve nationally recognised qualifications including:
  • NVQ 2 qualification in Performing Engineering Operations,
  • BTEC National Certificate in Elecrical/Electronic Engineering,
  • NVQ 3 and HNC in Electronic/Electrical Engineering
  • Key Skills/Functional Skills at Level 2.

Qualifications and educational requirements:

A minimum of five GSCE’s (Grade A-C) to include Maths, English Language and a science-related subject or equivalent.
Any further education related to Engineering would be an advantage - A Levels, BTECs or NVQs.  
Please note that, due to safety restrictions regarding working in the fabrication unit, applicants must be aged 18 or over.

It is essential that applicants can demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team, have good communication and interpersonal skills.

We will also look for self-motivated individuals with a logical approach to problem solving.
